ALPIN ARENA SENALES SKI TOURING

Pure mountain air and breath-taking adventures in the spectacular Schnalstal Valley. Discover the hidden treasures of the Alpin Arena Senales along the new special-purpose ski touring route from Maso Corto/Kurzras via the Teufelsegg mountain hut to the Bella Vista refuge or the Grawand mountain peak.

Route Description & Key Facts

The route has a total length of 7 kilometers with an elevation gain of about 1,200 meters.
The ascent route marked in green is exclusively reserved for ski tourers and may only be used during the opening hours of the slopes, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Descending into the valley is possible within 5 p.m.
The starting point of the route is located at the Roter Kofel chairlift in Maso Corto, at an altitude of 2,011 meters.

The route is divided into two sections.
Section 1 leads from the Roter Kofel chairlift to the Teufelsegg hut and involves an elevation gain of approximately 400 meters. The route runs mainly alongside the ski slope with only a few crossing points, all of which are clearly signposted. Particular caution is required at all crossing points, as skiers on the slopes always have the right of way. All instructions and signs along the route must be strictly observed.
Section 2 continues from the Teufelsegg hut/top station of the Roter Kofel chairlift in the direction of Grawand. The route continues alongside the ski slopes and crosses the slope in some places (signs are provided). Via the Schmugglerscharte, the route leads to an area just before the valley station of the Gletschersee chairlift. Here, it is possible to turn left towards the Bella Vista hut or to continue following the marked route, which leads to the top station of Grawand at an altitude of 3,212 meters.

REGULATIONS & SAFETY TIPS

  • Ascent within the ski area is permitted for ski tourers only via the designated route (marked by green poles with green flags) and during the specified operating hours.
  • For information on the current situation, please check the Alpin Arena Senales website. The route may remain closed or may also be closed during opening hours (e.g. due to avalanche danger).
  • In the event of a closure due to danger, all persons on the slopes and tracks (including the ski touring route), MUST return to a safe location after being notified by the slope staff/patrol. (e.g., the valley station of the cable car)
  • Ski touring route Maso Corto-Grawand: approx. 7 km, 1,200 m ascent.
  • Our ski slopes are exclusively reserved for guests on skis, snowboards, or similar equipment who are moving downhill (descent). The ascent on the ski slope is strictly forbidden.
  • To prevent accidents and conflicts, in addition to the FIS code of conduct, please also follow the operator's terms and conditions and the following recommendations:
  • Closed slopes or closed slope areas are not allowed to be entered. The use of piste equipment - especially with winch cables - or avalanche triggering devices, etc., can create life threatening situations.
  • Cross the slopes only at the designated crossings and leave the slopes as quickly as possible.
  • Skiers must behave in a way, considering their technical abilities, the characteristics of the slope, and the environmental conditions, that  does not pose a danger to their own safety or to others.
  • The uphill ski tourer must maintain a line that allows them to avoid collisions, interference, or dangerous situations with the downhill skier.
  • On the ascent route and on the slopes, ski tourers are responsible for themselves. Pay attention to alpine hazards and assess situations correctly.
  • Dogs are not allowed on the slopes.
  • Behave respectfully toward the environment, the Alpin Arena Senales, its employees, and the authorities. Instructions given by staff or authorities must be followed.
