Trail Running in Italy
Discover Alpin Arena Senales for a trail running vacation for runners of all experience levels.
Trail running in the Alps on the legendary trails in Val Senales once traversed by "Ötzi," gives you the opportunity to experience the fascinating nature and the stunning mountain landscape up close.
The term “trail” literally means “track,” “trace,” or “path” – and there are plenty of them in Val Senales: over 240 kilometres of marked hiking paths and trails crisscross the valley, inviting you on a trail running vacation. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or a true endurance athlete, you’ll find the perfect route here. The terrain ranges from demanding mountain paths to gentler routes along the valleys, making trail running in Italy possible for every taste and skill level.
We recommend the “Vertical” route:
Just under eight kilometres, 1,240 metres of elevation gain – the goal: the “Iceman Ötzi Peak” platform at 3,251 metres. For those who love steep climbs, burning thighs, and thin air, the "VERTICAL" is just right. The route starts in Maso Corto at 2,011 metres and initially leads over flowy trails, then becomes more technically demanding, and finally extremely steep. At some point, the goal comes into view: the Glacier Hotel Grawand and the top station of the glacier cable car. For the way back, take the gondola. A final glance back at the trail you conquered rewards you with unforgettable impressions.
