SUMMER OPENING: 12th JUNE 2021! The bizarre alpine
Val Senales Valley is an
insider tip in summer. If you want to enjoy authentic nature, experience
historical farms and
rustic alpine pastures and
relax, then this is the place for you.
After summer skiing on the glacier has been discontinued for several years for environmental reasons. From June to August the
Hochjochferner (Glacier) is treated as gently and sensitively as a patient. On particularly delicate places there are
snow depots and large areas of the glacier are covered with
special foils. In this way, the Val Senales Glacier Cableways guarantee
perfect slope conditions from
September to May and make an active contribution to the
protection of nature.
The new viewing platform
In
midsummer, the glacier is now a
popular destination for excursions. Nowhere else is it easier to conquer a real three-thousander. The glacier cable car overcomes more than a thousand metres in altitude in
six minutes and takes guests from
Maso Corto up to
3,212 metres.
From there it's just under 40 metres to the new viewing platform
“Iceman Ötzi peak” (3,251 m), from where you can enjoy a
breathtaking panoramic view - from the Dolomites to the Brenta Group high above Lake Garda, from the Ortler Group to the giants of the Engadine.
