The high altitude Oetzi Galcier Tour winds through the fascinating Hochjochferner glacier area and leads to the Tisenjoch area, where the famous “Ice Man” was discovered at 3200 meters above sea level. The Seilbahnkarte Meraner Land ticket offers hikers a reduced rate for several cable cars and lifts in Merano and Environs.
To the Bella Vista Mountain Hut with the Glacier Experience Card: The perfect offer for walking enthusiasts and winter hikers to enjoy a fantastic snow day out on the Val Senales Glacier. In around six minutes, the Glacier cable car will whisk you up to the top station and the Glacier Hotel & Restaurant Grawand at an altitude of 3,212 metres. From here, you take the Grawand chairlift to the Ötzi Biwak mountain hut and then the Gletschersee chairlift to the valley station of the chairlift. The Bella Vista hut can then be reached on foot in about 30 minutes, or the hut warden can arrange to pick you up at the Hintereis chairlift: call +39 0473 662140.

The Oetzi Glacier Tour starts from the upper Val Senales Valley cable car station, over the Hochjochferner glacier and up to the discovery place of the Ice Mummy Oetzi on the Tisenjoch mountain area (3200 meters above sea level). Every Tuesday from mid-June until April, experienced mountain guides accompany Alpine hikers through the fascinating landscape of the Oetztal Alps. This one-day round trip following the footsteps of the “Ice Man” is offered as a mountain hike during the summer and a ski tour in the winter and spring.
The total walking time is about seven to eight hours. Participants are required to have a good level of conditioning and sure footing. Alpine mountain experience is not needed.
