When herds move across the glacier
The Schnalstal Glacier features another unique highlight: The sheep crossing, which is an intangible UNESCO cultural heritage, presents crowning moments in the valley twice a year. Hundreds of sheep and goats cross the main ridge of the Alps with their shepherds in spring. In September, the herd returns to the Schnalstal Valley, where their arrival is duly celebrated.
