Customized altitude training improves physical performance and is a fundamental part of the modern training concept. The Val Senales Glacier is one of the most important high altitude training destinations in Italy, in particular for Alpine and cross-country skiing.

From mid-September onwards, the Val Senales Glacier offers ideal conditions for pre-season training. On the Grawand slope, athletes have access to approximately 40 training runs with different levels of difficulty. The slalom and giant slalom training runs at the Leo Gurschler slope offer additional terrain variations. World Cup Teams from both Austria and Italy train at the Val Senales Glacier.

An increasing number of athletes from other sports, such as swimmers, biathletes and canoeists, also integrate high altitude training in Italy. It has become an essential part of the long and intense pre-season training program in preparation for international competition.
