Snowshoe hiking tour to the ice cave

28.12.2011The snowshoe hiking tour to the ice cave on the glacier of Val Senales will be organized every Wednesday and Sunday.

The ice grotto on the glacier of Val Senales

Our hiking guide Caterina will accompany you on the border of the slopes to the impressive ice cave. On over 3.000 meters lies the ice cave surrounded by the “Ötztaler Alps”. Then you will scale down to the Teufelsegg hut. As an alternative can be organized a rise to the mountain hut Bella Vista. There will every participant get a Glacisse amenities.

Costs: 20.00 Euro per person (extra charge for the cable car and the chair lift, if you don’t have a skipass).

Meeting point: 10.00 am at the reception of the Hotel Grawand on the mountain station

Equipment: winter outdoor clothing, hiking or ski sticks, snowshoes are available at the Hotle Grawand

Schedule: snowshoeing to the glacier caves, descent to the „Teufelsegg“ hut – short lunch break and at 3 pm return to the valley with the chairlift „Roter Kofel“

Elevation gain & trail length : about 1.000 m – duration of the tours: approx.. 3 hours

Rating: moderate descent, appropriate gear and good fitness recommended
