South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology
The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology tells the story of South Tyrol from
pre-historic times to those of the last Ice Age (15,000 B.C:) and the era of Charles the Great (approx. 800 A.D.)
The museum's main attraction is, without doubt, the internationally-known
Man from the Ice, a
glacier mummy now known to be at least 5,300 years old. Ötzi, as he is affectionately known, together with his clothing, tools and weapons, is the unrivalled star of the whole collection!
