Centre piece of the texel group nature park
After the exit to Monte Santa Caterina, the road runs across a high but narrow bridge, crossing the Schnals stream. Half way up the hill in the direction of Karthaus, a signpost on your right leads you to the exit of the
Val di Fosse. First of all, the road runs steeply up the
largest side valley of the Val Senales. The last part of the road is also quite steep, just before you reach the large car park at the Vorderkaserhof. This is the
starting point for a popular Alpine hiking trip into the protected area of the
chamois and
ibex. Along the road, which is also part of the Meran mountain road and which leads you across the Eisjöchl into the back of the Passeier Valley, you can find some very rare
Alpine flowers. And if you are looking for some
rest and a meal, while enjoying the panoramic views, there are a number of
Alpine huts along the way.
Hikers on a longer trip, as well as holidaymakers will find a place to stay overnight.
