Rapidly ascend to go hiking in the Schnalstal Valley
At the end of the valley in
Kurzras (2,011 m) you encounter
breathtaking mountain scenery, with the main alpine ridge of the
Ötztaler Alps spread out before your eyes. There is a wide range of choices here to fill a refreshing and at the same time exciting day's holiday. A high alpine mountain tour or a jovial hike to one of the
mountain pastures and huts? Would you rather hover upwards with the
glacier chair lift or the
Lazaun lift, and then descend without using up so much energy? Or are you sporty, and venture to climb up, and then afterwards give your joints a rest and glide down in the lift? You are spoilt for choice on how to spend a very special day going on gorgeous hikes.
Panorama of the Alps and glacier view - a unique experience
Even if you are not committed to sport, you must treat yourself to the
unforgettable panorama view from the Grawand summit station - which is simultaneously
the highest hotel in the Alps. With good visibility, the view extends right up to the Dolomites, the Ortler massif, the Brenta range, the Zugspitze …. The
Hochjoch Glacier, with a view down into the
Ötztal Valley, and the entire Schnalstal Valley stretched out below you. In only 6 minutes you can hover up to the summit station at
3,212 metres above sea level and, with some luck, see
the wild mountain goats which like to linger in the vicinity of the steep rock faces.
