The cross-country glacier ski trail Hochjoch at the Val Senales Glacier offers ideal conditions for high altitude training. With an elevation of 3000 meters above sea level, this cross-country glacier ski trail is an important destination for the leading national cross-country ski teams.

These challenging training trails are open from mid-September to mid-December, and stretch across treeless and wide-open terrain. Depending on snow and weather conditions, the cross-country ski trail ranges between four and ten kilometers long.

In addition, athletes can also train along the panoramic four kilometer Lazaun trail. Besides its ideal location for high altitude cross-country ski training, the Val Senales Glacier offers an ideal infrastructure and many options for other sports activities to balance the training routine. This explains why international star athletes such as Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, Petter Northug and Justyna Kowalczyk have come here for pre-season training.
